CW Renews ‘The 100’ For Season 6

Sci-fi drama The 100 has only recently returned for its 5th Season in the US (which starts Weds, 9th May 2018 at 9pm on E4 in the UK), but The CW has already renewed it for a 6th Season the US network has announced.

The series follows a group of post-apocalyptic survivors as they return to Earth after their orbiting space ark begins to fail. When we left the gang at the end of Season 4, Earth’s remaining nuclear reactors had begun to melt down and were setting the atmosphere on fire. This led to the majority of the group taking refuge in the Second Dawn bunker, whilst Raven’s (Lindsey Morgan) group were forced to flee back up to the Ark in space. Unfortunately, that meant leave Clarke (Eliza Taylor) behind on the surface. The season ended with a 6 year and seven days time jump that revealed Clarke had somehow survived the incoming death wave along with a young nightblood girl. As Clarke tries to make contact with the Ark, a mysterious spacecraft lands on Earth…

As we head into Season 5, Clarke struggles to survive on the desolate, scorched planet surface, while her friends in space come across a long-awaited beacon of hope.

‘The 100’ joins a host of already renewed shows on The CW including ‘Legends Of Tomorrow’, ‘Arrow’, ‘Flash’, ‘Supergirl’, ‘Black Lightning’, ‘Riverdale’, ‘Supernatural’, Dynasty’, ‘Crazy Ex-Girlfriend’, and ‘Jane the Virgin’.

The only CW show still with a question mark hanging over its future is ‘iZombie’, whose fate will likely be determined by the number of pilots the network decides to pick up for the new season. However, the channel will have more space next season as it expands its Sunday night schedule, which could work well for the zombie-themed dramedy.

The 100‘ Season 5 gets it’s UK premiere on E4 on Wednesday, 9th May 2018 at 9pm.
