Whilst people packed the hall to get their first look at TVD/Originals spin-off ‘Legacies’, they also got a little bonus treat, in the form of a trailer for the upcoming CW ‘Roswell High’ reboot ‘Roswell, New Mexico‘.
‘Roswell, New Mexico’ is, once again, based on Melinda Metz’s ‘Roswell High’ YA book series, but has a slight twist from the previous version, by adding in an immigration element. In this version, we follow the daughter of undocumented immigrants who has reluctantly returned to her hometown of Roswell, New Mexico. Settling back into the little tourist-trap town, she uncovers the shocking truth about her teenage crush turned local police officer… He is actually an alien who has kept his unearthly abilities hidden his entire life!
As the duo reconnect, they begin to investigate his origins, whilst keeping his alien background a secret. But when a violent attack and government cover-up point to a greater alien presence on Earth, the politics of fear and hatred threaten to expose him and destroy their deepening romance.
The show stars Jeanine Mason, Nathan Parsons, Lily Cowles, Michael Vlamis, Heather Hemmens, Michael Trevino, and Trevor St. John. Kevin Kelly Brown, who exec produced the original series is back for the reboot, which is being made by Bender Brown Productions, WBTV and Amblin TV. ‘The Originals’ writer, Carina Adly MacKenzie, has written the script.
‘Roswell, New Mexico‘ comes to The CW in mid-season, and doesn’t yet have a UK broadcaster. We’ll let you know when we hear something.
