Syfy UK Sets January UK TV Premiere Date For ‘Marvel’s Runaways’ Season 2
‘Marvel’s Runaways‘ returns to the UK for its 2nd Season in January 2019 Syfy UK has announced.
Based on the 2003 comic book by Brian K. Vaughan (Buffy Season 8, Saga) and Adrian Alphona (Ms. Marvel, Uncanny X-Force), Runaways follows a group of teens who, despite their dislike of each other, must band together against a common enemy… Their parents… When the group discover their various elders are actually part of an evil cabal called ‘PRIDE’, the teens start to learn their true heritage. Some find they have abilities, whilst others decide to swipe some magical items from their evil parents and set out to defeat them.
Season 2 picks up where Season 1 left off, with the Runaways actually running away! Having left their homes (and evil parents) behind and now have to learn to live on their own. As they scavenge for food, search for shelter, and take care of one another, our kids begin to realize that, for better or worse, they’re stuck with each other. And it’s up to them to take down PRIDE once and for all. But someone sent a mysterious message to Jonah… Is there a mole in the Runaways? Meanwhile, PRIDE is focused on finding their children, and Jonah has his own dangerous plan in mind.
The series stars Rhenzy Feliz, Lyrica Okano, Virginia Gardner, Ariela Barer, Gregg Sulkin, Allegra Acosta, Annie Wersching, Ryan Sands, Angel Parker, Ever Carradine, James Marsters, Kevin Weisman, Brigid Brannagh, James Yaegashi, Brittany Ishibashi, Kip Pardue, and Julian McMahon.
Marvel’s Runaways is executive produced by series showrunners/writers Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage (‘The O.C.’, ‘Gossip Girl’) along with Marvel’s Head of Television, Jeph Loeb (‘Jessica Jones’, ‘The Defenders’).
