Hope you all enjoyed your Christmas, but now the people at Netflix have something to help while away the time before New Year – ‘Black Mirror: Bandersnatch‘.
The year is In 1984. The video gaming revolution is just beginning to take off. A young programmer begins to question reality as he adapts the sprawling fantasy novel “Bandersnatch” into a video game, but soon faces a mind-mangling challenge.
It has been rumoured that the “event” special would contain a “choose your own adventure” element, allowing viewers to alter the story. The trailer does seem to hint at this, but I guess we won’t know for sure until it’s release.
The special is directed by David Slade (‘American Gods’, ‘Hannibal’), and stars Will Poulter (‘The Revenant’, ‘The Maze Runner’), Fionn Whitehead (‘Dunkirk’) and Asim Chaudhry (‘People Just Do Nothing’).
This episode is being released as an “event”, rather than a full season, so we don’t yet know when ‘Black Mirror’ Season 5 proper will be landing on the streaming service. Creator Charlie Brooker has said it is in the works though, so we’ll let you know when we hear more.
