US network NBC has released a new trailer for Season 1 of their upcoming mid-season drama ‘The Enemy Within‘ starring ‘Dexter’s Jennifer Carpenter & ‘Rosewood’s Morris Chestnut.
In this character-based psychological thriller, Erica Shepherd (Carpenter), a brilliant former CIA operative now known as one of the most notorious traitors in recent American history, is serving life in a Supermax prison. Against every fiber of his being, but with nowhere else to turn, FBI agent Will Keaton (Chestnut) enlists Shepherd to help track down a fiercely dangerous and elusive criminal she knows all too well. While Shepherd and Keaton have different motivations for bringing the enemy to justice, they both know that to catch a spy… they must think like one.
Additional cast includes Raza Jaffrey (‘Lost in Space’, ‘Code Black’), Kelli Garner (‘Pan Am’, ‘Looking’), Cassandra Freeman (‘Luke Cage’) and Noah Mills (‘The Brave’).
‘The Enemy Within’ comes from Ken Woodruff (‘Reverie’, ‘Gotham’, ‘The Mentalist’), with Mark Pellington (‘Blindspot’, ‘Arlington Road’) directing and exec producing the first episode. Matt Corman, Chris Ord and Charles Beeson also exec produce along with Woodruff.
The series doesn’t yet have a UK broadcaster, but has Sky Witness (or possibly Alibi) written all over it, so we shall see. Given the popularity of other similar NBC titles, such as ‘The Blacklist’ and ‘Blindspot’, we’d expect this to land a UK channel soon. We’ll let you know if and when we hear more. ‘The Enemy Within’ premieres February 25th 2019 on NBC in the US.
