Bryan Cranston To Star In Legal Thriller ‘Your Honor’ For Showtime

Bryan Cranston is returning to TV for a new limited series on Showtime called Your Honor the US network has announced.

Based on Israeli drama ‘Kvodo’, the drama is a legal thriller that rips through all strata of New Orleans society. Cranston stars as a respected judge whose son is involved in a hit-and-run that leads to a high-stakes game of lies, deceit and impossible choices.

English playwright and screenwriter Peter Moffat (‘The Night Of’, ‘The Village’, ‘Criminal Justice’) will write the series and serve as showrunner. He also exec produces, along with Cranston and ‘The Good Wife’ creators, Robert and Michelle King. CBS TV Studios will produce the drama along with King Size Productions. The original Israeli series was created by Ron Ninio and Shlomo Mashiach.

“Peter, Michelle and Robert have crafted an original thriller with gut-wrenching suspense, raw emotion and moral complexity,” commented Gary Levine, president of entertainment for Showtime Networks. “And we are simply ecstatic that Bryan Cranston, one of the planet’s finest actors, shares our enthusiasm and has agreed to play the lead. I can’t wait to shoot ‘Your Honor’ and show it to the world!”

Cranston is, of course, best known these days for playing Walter White in the epic ‘Breaking Bad’. Since then he’s starred in films such as ‘Trumbo’, ‘All the Way’, and also co-created the brilliant ‘Sneaky Pete’ for Amazon.

Whilst it’s too early for things like premiere dates, as Your Honor is a Showtime series, that means it should air on Sky Atlantic in the UK under their overall carriage deal with the US network.
