US Network TV Land has renewed ‘Younger‘ for Season 7, just as Comedy Central UK gives the series a new home on this side of the Atlantic.
‘Younger’ follows Liza (two-time Tony winner Sutton Foster), a 40-year old woman who pretends to be 26 in order to get a job in the highly competitive world of publishing – and succeeds. Now working under the prickly Diana (Miriam Shor), Liza has to figure out how to balance her real life with best friend Maggie (Debi Mazar), and her “pretend” life with her new crew – friend/coworker Kelsey (Hilary Duff) and fashion publicist Lauren (Molly Bernard).
The show originally aired on the Sony channel in the UK but was dropped after 2 Seasons. It now returns on Comedy Central UK, who will air it from Season 1. “Younger is a delightful mix of comedy, drama and romance that is sure to become a firm favourite with Comedy Central viewers”, commented Louise Holmes, Vice President and General Manager of Comedy Central UK. “The show has gone from strength to strength on Viacom’s TV Land in the U.S. and we can’t wait to bring all six seasons to Comedy Central’s viewers here in the UK from this autumn.”
Over in the US, TV Land has today announced that ‘Younger’ will return for a 7th Season. “Season after season, Younger has continued to reach new heights and build an incredibly loyal fan base,” stated Keith Cox, President, Development and Production, Paramount Network and TV Land. “We love this talented and amazing cast and can’t wait to see what Darren has in store for season seven.”
‘Younger’ is created, executive produced and written by Darren Star (creator of ‘Beverly Hills, 90210’, ‘Melrose Place’, and ‘Sex and the City’), with Tony Hernandez of JAX Media executive producing. Dottie Zicklin, Eric Zicklin and Alison Brown also serve as executive producers and writers on the series.
‘Younger‘ will land on Comedy Central UK in Autumn 2019.
