Last weekend, we headed to MCM Manchester Comic-Con, and found the androids had invaded! More specifically, Bryan Dechart & Amelia Rose Blaire, who played Connor and Traci on Quantic Dream superb video game ‘Detroit: Become Human’.
For those of you who haven’t played the game, it is set in the near-future metropolis of Detroit in 2038 – a city rejuvenated by the introduction of highly advanced androids that exist only to serve mankind. But, as you play through, that all changes… ‘Detroit: Become Human’ lets you step into the shoes of three distinct android characters as this brave new world teeters on the brink of chaos. Your decisions dramatically alter how the game’s intense, branching narrative plays out.
One of the main characters you play is Connor, played by Bryan Dechart, who provided the voice and motion capture. As a special police investigator, Connor is a bleeding-edge prototype android, who assists the Detroit Police Department in tracking down deviants – androids that have broken their programming, abandoned their owners or turned to crime.
Amelia Rose Blaire plays Traci, or rather, a multitude of Tracis you meet in the game. The Traci WR400 models are the “advanced sex androids released by CyberLife in 2035”, and Connor first meets one at the Detroit Eden Club during one of his investigations.
Along with ‘Detroit: Become Human’, Bryan has appeared in ‘True Blood’, ‘Jane by Design’, ‘Beauty and the Beast’ and movie ‘The Remaining’. Amelia starred as vampire Willa Burrell on ‘True Blood’, Piper Shaw on ‘Scream’, and has popped up on shows such as ‘The Mentalist’, ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ and ‘90210’. The couple are married and regularly Twitch stream games together.
If you’ve not played ‘Detroit: Become Human’, I highly recommend you go and pick up a copy.
