Amazon has released the first trailer for the hilarious and utterly bingeable The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel which returns for Season 3 on Friday, 6th December 2019.

The series stars Rachel Brosnahan as Miriam ‘Midge’ Maisel, a 1958 New York City woman, who discovers she has a talent for stand-up comedy. In Season 1 we saw her finding her feet on stage. Season 2 saw her climb up the comedy ladder, but the grind of being a comic began to take its toll, as she has to come clean to her family.

If you remember the end of that season, Midge had been offered a tour with the famous singer, Shy Baldwin (Leroy McClain). In Season 3, Midge and Susie are discovering that life on tour with Shy is glamorous but humbling, as they learn a lesson about show business they’ll never forget. Joel struggles to support Midge while pursuing his own dreams. Abe embraces a new mission and Rose learns she has talents of her own.

Along with Emmy and Golden Globe winner Rachel Brosnahan, the series also star Golden Globe winner and three-time Emmy winner Tony Shalhoub (‘Monk’) as Midge’s father Abe Weissman, Emmy winner Alex Borstein (‘Family Guy’) as Susie Myerson, Emmy nominee Marin Hinkle (‘Two and a Half Men’) as Midge’s mother Rose Weissman, Michael Zegen (‘Boardwalk Empire’) as Midge’s husband Joel Maisel, Kevin Pollak (‘Mom’, ‘A Few Good Men’) as Joel’s father Moishe Maisel, and Caroline Aaron (‘Episodes’, ’21 Jump Street’) as Shirley Maisel, Joel’s mother.

The series comes from ‘Gilmore Girls’ creators Amy Sherman-Palladino and Daniel Palladino, and if you are fans of that show, I urge you to seek out ‘The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel’ on Amazon, as it has the same glorious writing. It is the winner of 8 Emmy Awards including Outstanding Comedy series, 3 Golden Globes including Best TV Series – Comedy, 5 Critics’ Choice Awards including Best Comedy Series, 2 PGA Awards, a WGA Award, and a Peabody Award.

The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel‘ Season 3 premieres Friday, 6th December 2019 on Amazon Prime Video.
