Set behind the scenes of a tv station, ‘The Morning Show’ asks “what happens when the people you trust to tell the truth prove themselves to be dishonest?” The Morning Show follows the free fall of an early morning newscast in the wake of a scandal, and its struggle to survive in an era when news arrives in the palm of your hand.
The series cast is led by Academy Award winner Reese Witherspoon, Emmy winner Jennifer Aniston and Golden Globe winner Steve Carell in a high-stakes drama that pulls back the curtain on the morning news. They are joined by Billy Crudup (‘Watchmen’, ‘Alien: Covenant’), Nestor Carbonell (‘Midnight, Texas’, ‘Lost’), Bel Powley (‘Informer’, ‘Benidorm’), Gugu Mbatha-Raw (‘Black Mirror’, ‘The Cloverfield Paradox’) and Mark Duplass (‘Goliath’, ‘The Mindy Project’).
Director of Photography, Michael Grady, has recently led the visuals on the star-studded series, and discusses what it is like lighting and filming a show within a show. He also talks about his experience working for television newcomers, Apple, and working with Reese Witherspoon and Jennifer Aniston, who are stars and exec producers on the series.
Beyond his upcoming work on ‘The Morning Show’ Michael also shot films such as ‘On the Basis of Sex’, starring Felicity Jones and Armie Hammer, as well as fan-favourite series including, Netflix’s ‘Ozark’, starring Jason Bateman, HBO’s ‘The Leftovers’, starring Justin Theroux and more.
