The Geektown Radio podcast is back with our first show for 2020. This week I’m joined by co-host Matt from Entertainment Talk to review our week in tv and film, plus we chat about the weekly tv news, and we run through the results of The Geektown Awards.
Whilst there might not have been a huge amount of news around due to the Christmas break, here at Geektown we held the annual Geektown Awards, where you, the public, voted on your favourite tv shows, games and movies from the past twelve months. This voting period we have seen some amazing tv series, from HBO/Sky Atlantic’s ‘Chernobyl’, to Ricky Gervais’ dark Netflix comedy ‘After Life’, to BBC One’s adaptation of ‘His Dark Materials’. We also had the end of Marvel’s MCU Infinity Saga in the cinema, and EA finally released a single-player Star Wars game with ‘Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order’.
The awards threw out some expected winners, along with some which took us by surprise. You can listen to Matt and I as we talk through the categories, and see what we agreed with, and what we would have picked when we didn’t!
