Syfy US Releases Trailer For Dark Horse Comic Adaptation ‘Resident Alien’ Starring Alan Tudyk
The US Syfy channel has released the first little teaser trailer for ‘Resident Alien‘, a new sci-fi comedy adaptation of the Dark Horse comic book, starring Alan Tudyk.
The stranded, curious alien known as Dr. Harry (Tudyk) tends to patients in the sleepy town of Patience, Washington. Questions about the town’s previous doctor arise when a strange briefcase is found leading to the crash of the alien vessel sent to destroy the Earth.
Tudyk is, of course, the much-loved star of ‘Firefly’ where he played pilot Hoban “Wash” Washburne. Since the tragic demise of that series, he has starred in films such as ‘Rogue One’, ‘Trumbo’, and ‘Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials’, along with tv series such as ‘Powerless’, ‘The Tick’ and can currently be seen in DC Universe’s ‘Doom Patrol’.
“Enjoy watching me crash yet another spaceship? They keep giving me the keys, man!” commented Tudyk at NYCC last year. “I feel very lucky to get to share this with you guys. It’s a very funny show.”
Alongside Tudyk, the series stars Sara Tomko (‘Once Upon A Time’), Corey Reynolds (‘The Closer’), Alice Wetterlund (‘People of Earth’) and Levi Fiehler (‘Mars’).
This twisted and comedic fish-out-of-water story is based on the Dark Horse comic book of the same name by Peter Hogan and Steve Parkhouse. The pilot was directed and executive-produced by David Dobkin (‘Into the Badlands’), while Chris Sheridan (‘Family Guy’), Mike Richardson (‘Hellboy’), and Keith Goldberg (‘The Legend of Tarzan’) of Dark Horse Entertainment are also executive producers, along with Justin Falvey and Darryl Frank of Amblin TV.
‘Resident Alien‘ Season 1 will premiere on Syfy US in “Summer 2020”. No news on when or where it may air in the UK, but we’ll let you know when we hear something.
