Stephen Graham Set To Join ‘Peaky Blinders’ For Season 6

Peaky Blinders has added another high-profile face, as actor Stephen Graham reveals that he is due to join the cast of the gangster drama when filming on Season 6 eventually begins.

In a recent interview, Graham commented that he was set to join the cast for the upcoming season, but that has been put on hold due to the COVID-19 pandemic. “I was supposed to be starting Peaky Blinders but that has been put on hold indefinitely,” he said. “My agent spent a lot of time putting that together.” He has not revealed exactly what that role will be.

Stephen has been an extremely busy boy over the last few years. Right now he is appearing in both Season 2 of the Lenny James drama ‘Save Me’, and new comedy ‘Code 404’ with Daniel Mays on Sky. Last year he starred in Netflix film ‘The Irishman’, ‘Line of Duty’, and ‘A Christmas Carol’, which came from ‘Peaky Blinders’ creator Steven Knight. Additionally, he has a bunch of movies in post-production, including the upcoming ‘Venom: Let There Be Carnage’, which sees fellow “Peaky” alumnus Tom Hardy reprise his role as Eddie Brock/Venom. He is also an actor who is no stranger to historical gangsters, having not only played Anthony ‘Tony Pro’ Provenzano in ‘The Irishman’, but Al Capone in ‘Boardwalk Empire’ and Baby Face Nelson in the movie ‘Public Enemies’.

As with all tv production at the moment, it is hard to say when ‘Peaky Blinders’ will return to filming. Star Cillian Murphy did recently post a message to the official Peaky Instagram feed promising “We will be back as soon as we can, I promise, causing chaos and knocking heads as usual.” He goes on to thank the cast and crew for their “forbearance and patience” during the shutdown, and muse about what Tommy Shelby might be doing during the lockdown. “I really hope he would be busy writing volume one of his memoirs,” he added. “‘Tommy Shelby – The Pre-War Years,’ that’s something I’d like to read.”

Whilst we don’t know when Peaky Blinders‘ Season 6 may air, we do know it is coming, and likely to be followed by a 7th Season. We’ll let you know when we hear more.
