Ryan Murphy and his team are apparently working on scaring you even more, as news drops that they are working on ‘American Horror Stories’, a new anthology spin-off series from ‘American Horror Story’.

Murphy let the news drop last night on an Instagram post which featured a screenshot of a Zoom call where he had been catching up with the AHS cast. Whilst the main ‘American Horror Story’ is, itself, known as an anthology series, as the story changes season-to-season, the new spin-off show would feature hourlong self-contained episodes.

“We reminisced about the good times… the spin-off we’re doing called “American Horror Stories” (one hour contained episodes)… when we will start filming the next season of the mothership… and other stuff I cannot print,” commented Murphy. “It was so much fun and I’m glad we caught up. I miss everyone!”

As with everything else at the moment, Season 10 of ‘American Horror Story’ is currently on hold due to the global pandemic. However, filming on AHS may be pushed back even further… due to the weather! In a recent interview with The Wrap, he commented “It was a weather-dependent show. So now I don’t know. I don’t know what we’re going to do. I don’t know what I’m gonna do next with that show. I don’t know if I’ll accelerate another season or wait till next year to shoot this one.”

As he hints there, the other possibility is that he switches things around so they shoot a different story than planned for Season 10, and push the original idea on to Season 11. That will very much depend on exactly when “Hollywood” can begin filming again though.

No plot had yet been released for Season 10, although it seems that it was set around a beach, which would (presumably) require sunny weather. They had announced the cast would include regulars Evan Peters, Sarah Paulson, Kathy Bates, Leslie Grossman, Billie Lourd, Adina Porter, Lily Rabe, Angelica Ross, and Finn Wittrock, along with Macaulay Culkin joining the AHS team for the first time.

In the meantime, you can find seasons 1-8 of ‘American Horror Story’ on Netflix if you need to catch up or rewatch. We’ll let you know when we hear more.
