NBC Renews ‘Manifest’ For Season 3

NBC has renewed mystery thriller Manifest for a 3rd Season the US network has announced.

After a turbulent but routine flight, the crew and passengers of Flight 828 disembarked to find the world had aged five-and-a-half years and their friends, families and colleagues had given up hope of ever seeing them again. Now, faced with the impossible, the passengers’ dreams of a second chance at life evaporate as they encounter the imminent danger surrounding them, both tangible and unexplained. With the stakes higher than ever, the passengers of Flight 828 will embark on an unexpected journey into a world grounded in hope, heart and destiny.

Overall, the drama has had reasonably solid ratings for the network, averaging a 1.5 rating in adults 18-49 and 7.7 million viewers in “live plus seven day”. It also improved the Monday 10pm hour by 88% in 18-49 rating versus NBC’s regular-program season average in the timeslot. You’d think that would make the renewal a sure thing, however, the drama is made by an outside network (Warner Bros.) not NBC themselves. This meant some lengthy negotiations behind the scenes with WB to work out the finances and keep the series on the air.

Season two, which currently airing on Sky One in the UK, sees the Stone family are reeling in the aftermath of a devastating shooting, but they’re hit with their most foreboding Calling yet, sending Ben on a mission to locate two Flight 828 passengers who have mysteriously gone missing. Meanwhile, Grace grapples with her new pregnancy, the Major attempts to tighten her grip on the unwitting Saanvi, all while the clock on the lives of the 828ers continues to tick towards zero.

Josh Dallas (‘Once Upon a Time’) leads the cast along with Melissa Roxburgh (‘Valor’, ‘Star Trek Beyond’), Athena Karkanis (‘Zoo’, ‘Suits’), J.R. Ramirez (‘Jessica Jones’, ‘Arrow’), Luna Blaise (‘Fresh Off the Boat’), Jack Messina and Parveen Kaur (‘Beyond’, ‘Saving Hope’).

The series is created by Jeff Rake (‘The Mysteries of Laura’, ‘The Tomorrow People’) who also exec produces with Hollywood director Robert Zemeckis and Jackie Levine. The series is produced by Warner Bros. Television, Universal Television, Compari Entertainment and Jeff Rake Productions.

Manifest‘ Season 2 is currently airing on Sky One in the UK, with all episodes available on NOW TV & Sky On Demand.
