Netflix Renews ‘Outer Banks’ For Season 2

Netflix has officially renewed the brilliantly entertaining teen mystery drama Outer Banks for a 2nd Season it has been announced.

‘Outer Banks’ is a coming of age story that follows a tight-knit group of local teens (the “Pogues”) in the beach vacation destination of the Outer Banks of North Carolina. When a hurricane kills the power for the summer season, it sets off a chain of illicit events that force the friends to make life-altering decisions. The search for their ringleader’s missing father, forbidden romances, a high-stakes treasure hunt, and the escalating conflict between the Pogues and their rivals turn their summer into one filled with mystery and adventure they’ll never forget.

The series stars Chase Stokes, Madelyn Cline, Madison Bailey, Jonathan Daviss, Rudy Pankow, Austin North, Drew Starkey, Deion Smith, and Charles Esten, who will reprise their roles in the Season 2.

We’ve known the renewal was likely for a while, after we interviewed Production Designer Daniel Novotny & Cinematographer Brad Smith last month, who hinted that they would likely already have been in pre-production on Season 2 had things not been shut down by the global pandemic. The series is a wonderful mix of ‘The Goonies’ meets ‘Ozark’ meets ‘Dawson’s Creek’, which sounds like it shouldn’t work, but does in a spectacular fashion!

Outer Banks‘ Season 1 can be seen globally on Netflix right now, and we urge you to go and watch!
