Netflix Releases First Trailer For ‘Ratched’ Starring Sarah Paulson, Premiering Sept

Netflix has released the first trailer for Ryan Murphy and Ian Brennan’s ‘One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest’ prequel series Ratched which stars Sarah Paulson and will premiere Friday, 18th September 2020.

From the creators of ‘American Horror Story’‘Ratched’ is a suspenseful drama series that tells the origin story of asylum nurse Mildred Ratched, played by Sarah Paulson. In 1947, Mildred arrives in Northern California to seek employment at a leading psychiatric hospital where new and unsettling experiments have begun on the human mind.

On a clandestine mission, Mildred presents herself as the perfect image of what a dedicated nurse should be, but the wheels are always turning and as she begins to infiltrate the mental health care system and those within it, Mildred’s stylish exterior belies a growing darkness that has long been smouldering within, revealing that true monsters are made, not born.

Alongside ‘American Horror’s Sarah Paulson as Mildred Ratched, the impressive cast includes Cynthia Nixon (‘Sex and the City’) as Gwendolyn Briggs, Judy Davis (‘Feud: Bette and Joan’) as Nurse Betsy Bucket, Sharon Stone (‘Basic Instinct’) as Lenore Osgood, Jon Jon Briones (‘American Horror Story’) as Dr. Richard Hanover, Finn Wittrock (‘American Horror Story’) as Edmund Tolleson, Charlie Carver (‘Teen Wolf’) as Huck, Alice Englert (‘Top of the Lake’) as Dolly, Amanda Plummer (‘Pulp Fiction’) as Louise, Corey Stoll (‘The Strain’) as Charles Wainwright, Sophie Okonedo (‘Flack’) as Charlotte and Vincent D’Onofrio (‘Daredevil’) as Gov. George Wilburn.

Ratched‘ will premiere Friday, 18th September 2020 on Netflix UK and worldwide.
