‘The Flash’ Season 7 Gets First Trailer At #DCFanDome

by Dave Elliott

The Arrowverse might be a bit late returning this time around due to the pandemic, but DC FanDome still managed to bring us a trailer of what’s to come in The Flash‘ Season 7.

If you remember where we left things, the new Mirror Master/Mistress, Eva McCulloch (Efrat Dor), has escaped into the “real world”, and killed her husband Joseph Carver, framing Sue Dearbon (Natalie Dreyfuss) in the process. Meanwhile, Iris (Candice Patton) was still trapped in the mirror universe and hunting for chief of police, David Singh (Patrick Sabongui), who is also trapped there, along with Kamilla (Victoria Park). But just as Iris found David, she vanished in a glowing light flash… Back in the Central City, Barry (Grant Gustin), who now knows Iris is trapped in the “Mirrorverse”, is trying to create an artificial Speed Force to replace the one they lost, but his power is draining fast, and they are running out of time…

As you can see in the new trailer, Mirror Mistress is causing havoc for our heroes now she is out in the world, but she’s not the only problem facing Team Flash… Godspeed has also returned, which is not a good thing at the best of times, but with The Flash running on fumes, can they actually stop him? One bright light could come in the form of gadget genius Chester P. Runk (new series regular Brandon McKnight), who Barry enlists to help with the artificial Speed Force project.

All the footage in this trailer was actually shot before the pandemic shut everything down earlier in the year, as none of the Arrowverse shows have yet returned to filming in Vancouver. Season 6 was cut short at episode 19, but a lot of episode 20 had already been filmed, which is what you’re seeing here. That footage will now become part of the premiere for Season 7, but with a few tweaks… One of the major ones being the removal of Ralph Dibny from the story following the firing of Hartley Sawyer.

We don’t yet know exactly when The Flash‘ Season 7 will premiere, although The CW are aiming to bring back the Arrowverse in January 2021… assuming everything goes to plan. Hopefully, that means it will also return in early 2021 on Sky One in the UK as well, but we’ll have to wait and see.
