Alibi Sets UK Premiere Date For Psychological Mystery Drama ‘Evil’
Alibi has set a September UK premiere date for Season 1 of the CBS psychological mystery drama ‘Evil‘ it has been announced.
‘Evil’ is a psychological mystery that examines the origins of evil along the dividing line between science and religion. The series focuses on a sceptical female psychologist who joins a priest-in-training and a contractor as they investigate the Church’s backlog of unexplained mysteries, including supposed miracles, demonic possessions and hauntings. Their job is to assess if there is a logical explanation or if something truly supernatural is at work.
The series stars Mike Colter (‘Luke Cage’) as David Acosta, a former journalist studying to be a Catholic priest. He currently works as an assessor, tasked with investigating and confirming events such as miracles and reports of demons; Katja Herbers (‘The Americans’, ‘Westworld’) as Kristen Bouchard, a forensic psychologist hired by David Acosta to help him distinguish between legitimate instances of demonic possession and insanity; Aasif Mandvi (‘The Daily Show’, ‘Blue Bloods’) as Ben Shakir, a contractor who works with David as his technical expert and equipment handler, along with acting as devil’s advocate, providing scientific explanations for supernatural phenomena; And Michael Emerson (‘Lost’, ‘Person Of Interest’) as Dr. Leland Townsend, an expert in the occult who is obsessed with encouraging others to commit evil acts.
‘Evil’ comes from ‘The Good Wife’ creators, Robert King & Michelle King. The Kings and Liz Glotzer (president of the King Size Productions) exec producer for CBS Television Studios. The drama has been renewed for a 2nd Season.
