Sky Witness Sets October UK Premiere Date For ‘Blindspot’ 5th & Final Season

It has been a bit of a wait for the UK, but Sky Witness has set an October UK premiere date for the 5th and final season of Blindspot it has been announced.

Jaimie Alexander leads the cast as “Jane Doe”, a woman found naked in Times Square covered in tattoos, and Sullivan Stapleton stars as FBI special agent Kurt Weller, whose name is tattooed on her back. Whilst “Jane” has no memory of what happened to her, she works with an FBI team to decipher, investigate and solve a complex map of clues hidden her body, revealing an ever-widening web of conspiracy and corruption.

Season 4 saw Jane revert to her original self, Remi, once again… That includes her original plan to take down the FBI. As we saw at the end of last season, Jane/Remi learns she is married to Weller but didn’t remember the events of the past few years. Helpfully, Roman left the Remi/Jane a necklace before dying, opening a whole new avenue of investigations using the tattoos for the FBI team to follow.

At the end of the season, Madeline Burke (Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio) had enacted Project: Helios, her plan to avenge her father who was killed in an FBI raid, blacking out the Eastern Seaboard while framing Weller’s FBI team for the attack and corruption in the process. Whilst Madeline, had been in custody, she manages to turn the tables on Director Weitz (Aaron Abrams), forcing him to release her and recant the charges. As the finale ends, Lucas Nash, Director of Intelligence (who is on Madeline’s payroll), arranges a drone strike that destroys the cottage where our gang our hiding out, with everyone except Jane still inside…

The opening episode of Season 5 sees Jane get a strange message from an unknown ally that allows her to mount a rescue mission to free Rich Dotcom from a CIA black site. She’s determined, but she’ll need help from her old rival Sho Akhtar (Ajay Naidu).

The cast also includes Rob Brown (‘Treme’), Audrey Esparza (‘Black Box’), and Ashley Johnson (‘Much Ado About Nothing’). Creator and writer Martin Gero (‘Bored to Death,’ ‘L.A. Complex’) serves as executive producer along with Greg Berlanti (‘Arrow,’ ‘The Flash’ ‘Legends of Tomorrow’) and Sarah Schechter (‘Arrow,’ ‘The Flash’ ‘Legends of Tomorrow’). ‘Blindspot’ is a production of Warner Bros. Television, Berlanti Productions and Quinn’s House.

Blindspot‘ Season 5 premieres Wednesday, 28th October 2020 at 9pm on Sky Witness.
