All Seasons Of ‘The West Wing’ & ‘One Tree Hill’ Coming To All4 In October

All4 is beefing up its boxsets again, as the UK streaming service announces all seasons of both ‘The West Wing’ & ‘One Tree Hill’ will be added in October.

Multi-award-winning drama ‘The West Wing’ takes you behind the scenes to experience the inner workings of the White House and the Presidential advisors in this drama series with humorous overtones from Emmy Award and Academy Award winner Aaron Sorkin, Emmy winner John Wells, and Emmy winner Thomas Schlamme.

The original series ran from 1999 to 2006 and follows Martin Sheen as Josiah “Jed” Bartlet, leading a Democratic administration including John Spencer as Leo McGarry, Bartlet’s close personal friend and Chief of Staff; Bradley Whitford as Josh Lyman, Deputy Chief of Staff; Richard Schiff as wonderfully grumpy Communications Director Toby Ziegler; Rob Lowe as Sam Seaborn, Deputy Communications Director; Allison Janney as Press Secretary C.J. Cregg; Dulé Hill as Charlie Young, Personal Aide to the President; Janel Moloney as Donna Moss, Senior Assistant to Josh Lyman; And Stockard Channing as Abbey Bartlet, the First Lady.

The series, which has frequently appeared on lists of “the best television shows of all time”, has won countless awards, including Golden Globes and Emmys, for the on-screen performers, writing and directing. If you’ve never seen it, the series is one of the best dramas ever on tv, and well worth a watch!

HBO Max recently aired a one-off special of the drama titled ‘A West Wing Special to Benefit When We All Vote’, which was a stage recreation of the Season 3 episode ‘Hartsfield’s Landing’. The special featured all the original cast, with Sterling K. Brown standing in as Leo for John Spencer, who passed away during the final season. Whilst the special doesn’t currently have a UK broadcaster, according to Toby Ziegler himself, Richard Schiff, HBO Max are “working on finding a way for you all to see this special,” outside of the USA, so we’ll let you know when we hear something more.

‘One Tree Hill’ is set in a small North Carolina town, where two estranged half-brothers carry on very different lives. Basketball prodigy Nathan Scott has inherited the throne of high school popularity once held by his father, Dan, while Lucas Scott, also a talented player, stays an outsider. Spending nights shooting hoops on a riverfront court, Lucas remains the son Dan never acknowledged. Now, Lucas’ and Nathan’s paths intersect for the first time, and in the middle of the crossroads stands Peyton Sawyer, Nathan’s beautiful, edgy girlfriend who just may have more in common with Lucas. Throw in the quiet animosity between Dan and his brother, Keith, along with Lucas’ mother, Karen – all of whom must cope with the aftermath of their choices – and something has to give.

The series stars Chad Michael Murray, James Lafferty, Hilarie Burton, Bethany Joy Lenz, Paul Johansson, Sophia Bush, Barry Corbin, Craig Sheffer, Moira Kelly, Barbara Alyn Woods, Lee Norris and Antwon Tanner.

“All eyes turn to The West Wing over the next few weeks and so there could not be a more fitting time to bring this giant of a show to All 4,” comments Nick Lee, Head of Series Acquisitions. “Proving that teen romance and sibling rivalries can be just as gripping as Capitol Hill, One Tree Hill will also slam dunk onto the platform in its entirety. Bringing these two major hits, alongside Malcolm in the Middle which landed on the 2 October, we have risen to a new high in the quality of our line-up. Happy Streaming!”

‘The West Wing’ Seasons 1 to 7 premiere Wednesday, 21st October 2020 on All4. ‘One Tree Hill’ Seasons 1 to 9 premiere Friday, 30th October 2020 on All4.
