‘The Good Place’ Star William Jackson Harper Takes Lead On ‘Love Life’ Season 2
William Jackson Harper has landed the leading role in season 2 of anthology series ‘Love Life‘ it has been announced.
‘Love Life’ is a romantic comedy which follows the journey from first love to last love, and how the people we’re with along the way make us into who we are when we finally end up with someone forever. Season one had Anna Kendrick in the leading role, but it was set up to have a different protagonist’s quest for love each season, with each half-hour episode telling the story of one of their relationships.
Season two will remain set in New York City but will focus on the journey of Harper’s new character – one which explores what happens when you’ve lived your whole life knowing who your soulmate is, only to find out years into a marriage that it’s not the right fit at all. If you’re a fan of Anna Kendrick’s Darby, there is some good news! The second season will also cleverly work in characters from season one, with Kendrick reprising her role occasionally.
William Jackson Harper is just coming off the back of four seasons on the phenomenal comedy series ‘The Good Place’, where he played the loveably neurotic Chidi. He also popped up in a couple of episodes on the second season of Amazon’s ‘Jack Ryan’, and is next due to appear in a recurring role on Barry Jenkins’ alt-history drama ‘The Underground Railroad‘ starring Joel Edgerton, Aaron Pierre, Chase W. Dillon, and Chase W. Dillon, also for Amazon.
‘Love Life’ is produced by Lionsgate Television and Feigco Entertainment. The series comes from creator Sam Boyd (‘In a Relationship’), who serves as co-showrunner with Bridget Bedard (‘Transparent’, ‘Ramy’). Boyd and Bedard serve as exec producers alongside Anna Kendrick, Paul Feig (‘A Simple Favor’, ‘Bridesmaids’) and Dan Magnante (‘Someone Great’).
‘Love Life‘ Season 1 is currently streaming on iPlayer in the UK. The series airs on HBO Max in the USA.
