David Ramsey Returns To The Arrowverse To Direct & Star As John Diggle AND As A New Character…

David Ramsey is heading back to the Arrowverse, both in front of and behind the camera. The actor is set to direct five episodes along with reprising his role as John Diggle across various shows. Additionally, he is also set to appear in a mysterious new role on ‘Legends Of Tomorrow’.

Ramsey was one of the OG ‘Arrow’ cast, playing John Diggle, who started out as Oliver Queen’s bodyguard, before joining Green Arrow in the fight against evil as Spartan. We last saw Diggle in the ‘Arrow’ finale, as he was moving out of Star City to Metropolis with his family. During the move, an object crashes in front of him, and when he opened it, it glowed green. There has been much speculation that this was possibly a Green Lantern ring, although that has never been officially confirmed. However, during the ‘Elseworlds’ crossover, Barry Allen of Earth-90 does make a comment querying why John doesn’t have his ring, so we do know Diggle’s on other Earths have become Green Lanterns.

On-screen, Ramsey has signed up for guest-starring roles as John Diggle in five episodes across ‘The Flash’, ‘Supergirl’, ‘Batwoman’ and ‘Superman & Lois’. He will also appear on Season 6 of ‘Legends of Tomorrow’ in “a mystery role”… Although it’s anyone’s guess as to what that could be… It could be as a Green Lantern… Could be as some new alien… Could be as Bebo in human form… This is Legends after all!

Behind the cameras, Ramsey will direct five episodes new series ‘Superman & Lois’, and ‘Supergirl’. This won’t be his first time in the director’s chair, having previously directed two episodes of ‘Arrow’.

“I remain in awe of the imprint these shows have had on television and I’ve been blessed for the better part of a decade to be a part of them both in front of and behind the camera,” commented Ramsey. “To say I’m excited beyond belief to return to the Berlantiverse would be an understatement. I can’t wait to continue telling these stories.”

We don’t yet know exactly when the Arrowverse shows will return in the UK on Sky One, as the US premieres were all shunted to January 2021 due to the pandemic. We also don’t yet have any confirmation on whether Sky has ‘Superman & Lois’, or whether E4 will air the second season of ‘Batwoman’, but we will let you know when we hear something!
