‘Bulletproof: South Africa’ Gets Trailer, Premiering January On Sky One

by Dave Elliott

We don’t have too long to wait for the return of Pike & Bishop in a brand new 3-part special – Bulletproof: South Africa – which premieres in January on Sky One, and to give you a little taste, the UK broadcaster has released a trailer!

Having spent two seasons bringing the series’ trademark cinematic action to the streets of London, this time the boys are heading overseas to dive deep undercover in a brand new case. Taking a much-deserved holiday in South Africa, the pair are ready for some sun, sea and serenity… But as things never go quite to plan for Pike & Bishop (Noel Clarke & Ashley Walters), the rest and relaxation will have to wait as they get swept up in a case.

While trying to relax after a tough year, Bishop, Pike and his family soon find themselves caught up in the frightening kidnap of a young girl. Having befriended the young girl’s parents earlier that day, Bishop and Pike decide it’s their duty to use their expertise to help the couple win their daughter back. The kidnappers demand an unreasonable reward for the safe return of the girl, but have no idea who they’re now up against.

With time running out, the duo have to slip their protective vests under their Hawaiian shirts in order to track her down and solve a conspiracy in a three-part special that will bring viewers more action, more car chases and more adrenaline in a thrilling journey into the underworld of Cape Town.

The second season, which aired in March, saw Bishop and Pike going undercover to infiltrate an international crime empire. Their chase for justice took them from the streets of London to Amsterdam and Cyprus, where they had to risk everything, including their police badges, to succeed.

This special was originally set to air in Autumn 2020, but as with everything this year, got moved around due to the pandemic. In this case, it wasn’t due to the filming, as that was completed just before the first lockdown, but due to Sky opting to spread out their content.

‘Bulletproof’ is a Sky Studios and Vertigo Films production. The drama was commissioned by Zai Bennett, Managing Director of Content, Sky UK and Ireland, and Cameron Roach, Director of Drama, Sky Studios. Executive Producers are Paul Gilbert for Sky, Allan Niblo for Vertigo Films, Nick Love, Noel Clarke and Ashley Walters.

Bulletproof: South Africa‘ is to premiere on Sky One on Wednesday, 20 January 2021 and will also be available on streaming service and NOW TV.
