‘Bloods’: Sky Releases Trailer For Samson Kayo & Jane Horrocks Paramedic Comedy

by Dave Elliott

Sky has released a trailer for Bloods, an upcoming original comedy series from the writers of ‘Trollied’, which stars the BAFTA-nominated Samson Kayo and Golden Globe-nominated Jane Horrocks as paramedic partners in the South London ambulance service.

When tough-acting loner Maleek (Kayo) is paired with over-friendly divorcee Wendy (Horrocks), their partnership looks dead on arrival. But pretty soon they’re giving each other life support. With heart-warming characters, set within the fast-paced, never-ending rush of 999 call outs, ‘Bloods’ charts Maleek and Wendy’s struggle to gain the respect of their fellow paramedics.

Samson Kayo you will know from shows such as BBC’s ‘Famalam’, ITV2’s ‘Timewasters’, and most recently, Amazon’s ‘Truth Seekers’ with Simon Pegg and Nick Frost. Jane Horrocks is known for her roles in tv shows such as Sky’s ‘Trollied’ and BBC’s ‘Absolutely Fabulous’, alongside films such as ‘Little Voice’, ‘Chicken Run’, ‘Life Is Sweet’, and a myriad of other projects!

The ensemble comedy also stars Lucy Punch (‘Motherland’, ‘A Series of Unfortunate Events’), Julian Barrett (‘The Mighty Boosh’), Adrian Scarborough (‘Gavin & Stacey’, ‘Killing Eve’), Kevin Garry (‘Famalam’, ‘Ted Lasso’), Sam Campbell (‘Stath Lets Flats’) and Aasiya Shah (‘Raised by Wolves’).

‘Bloods’ is made for Sky by Roughcut TV and was commissioned by Jon Mountague, Sky Studios’ Director of Comedy and Tilusha Ghelani Commissioning editor for Sky Studios. Created by Samson Kayo and Nathan Byron the show is written by Nathan Byron and Paul Doolan (‘Trollied’) and produced by Seb Barwell (‘Stath Lets Flats’). The executive producers for Roughcut are Ash Atalla (‘The Office’, ‘The IT Crowd’) and Alex Smith (‘Trollied’). Bloods will be distributed by NBCUniversal Global Distribution on behalf of Sky Studios.

Bloods‘ Season 1 is “coming soon” on Sky One and NOW TV with all episodes on demand.
