Amazon Orders Adaptation Of ‘The Summer I Turned Pretty’ YA Novel Series
Amazon has ordered an adaptation of Jenny Han’s best-selling YA novel series ‘The Summer I Turned Pretty‘ it has been announced.
‘The Summer I Turned Pretty’ is a multigenerational drama that hinges on a love triangle between one girl and two brothers, the ever-evolving relationship between mothers and their children, and the enduring power of strong female friendship. It is a coming-of-age story about first love, first heartbreak and the magic of that one perfect summer.
Original author Jenny Han wrote the pilot episode and is set as showrunner on the drama alongside Gabrielle Stanton (‘The InBetween’, ‘Haven’, ‘The Flash’). Along with being author on this The New York Times bestselling series, Han is the #1 New York Times bestselling writer of the To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before series. She was exec producer on the three Netflix film adaptations – ‘To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before’, ‘To All the Boys: P.S. I Still Love You’, ‘To All the Boys: Always and Forever’ – and her books have been published in more than thirty languages.

Han, Stanton and Karen Rosenfelt will serve as Executive Producers, along with Paul Lee, Nne Ebong and Hope Hartman from wiip. The eight-episode season will launch exclusively on Prime Video and is a co-production of Amazon Studios and wiip.
