Apple TV+ Releases Trailer & May Premiere For ‘Mythic Quest’ Season 2

by Dave Elliott

Apple TV+ has released a trailer and announced a May premiere date for Season 2 of Mythic Quest, a brilliant comedy set in a video game development studio from Charlie Day & Rob McElhenney, the people behind ‘It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia’. As you may have noticed, the “Raven’s Banquet” subtitle has been dropped, and there is a reason for that…

Season 1 introduced us to the team behind the biggest multiplayer video game of all time. But in a workplace focused on building worlds, moulding heroes, and creating legends, the most hard-fought battles don’t occur in the game… they happen in the office. When we left the team at the end of the last season, they added on an additional episode that was shot in lockdown, showing the gang dealt with the problems of trying to keep the game going with everyone working remotely. Whilst it was filmed that way out of necessity due to the pandemic, it produced one of the funniest and most poignant episodes of the run so far.

With the quarantine finally over, the new season finds everyone back in the office (well, almost everyone), attempting to build upon the success of Raven’s Banquet by launching an epic new expansion, but Ian (Rob McElhenney) and the newly promoted co-creative director, Poppy (Charlotte Nicdao), struggle with the game’s direction. Meanwhile, C.W. (F. Murray Abraham) reconciles some unresolved issues from his past, the testers (Ashly Burch and Imani Hakim) test the bounds of an office romance, and David (David Hornsby) loses yet another woman in his life as Jo (Jessie Ennis) leaves him to assist Brad (Danny Pudi).

Mythic Quest‘ Season 2 premieres Friday, 7th May 2021 on Apple TV+ in the UK and worldwide.
