Jameela Jamil Joins Marvel’s ‘She-Hulk’ As Villian

Marvel’s She-Hulk has added another face as it’s announced ‘The Good Place’ star Jameela Jamil will join the cast as the villain Titania according to reports.

She-Hulk is a legal comedy that centres on Jennifer Walters, played by the amazingly talented ‘Orphan Black’ star Tatiana Maslany. Whilst we don’t know much more about the tv series plot, in the comics, Walters gets shot whilst investigating a crime boss. She, unfortunately, has a rare blood type, but luckily she is being visited at the time by her cousin, Bruce Banner aka The Hulk, who proves a match and can help with the transfusion… But, that transfusion turns her into the green-skinned She-Hulk.

Jameela Jamil is said to be playing the villain Titania. Created by Jim Shooter and Mike Zeck in 1984, she is an expert fighter with superhuman strength and healing. Jamil is probably best known for her role as Tahani in our beloved ‘The Good Place’, and more recently has been voicing the character of Roxie in Netflix’s ‘Jurassic World Camp Cretaceous’.

Jamil joins the previously announced cast of Tatiana Maslany in the title role, Mark Ruffalo who returns as Bruce Banner, Tim Roth who reprises his role as Emil Blonsky, aka Abomination, Ginger Gonzaga (‘Space Force’, ‘I’m Dying Up Here’) as Walters’ best friend, and Renée Elise Goldsberry (‘Girls5eva’, ‘Altered Carbon’) as “Amelia”.

‘She-Hulk’ is directed by Kat Coiro and Anu Valia, with Jessica Gao serving as head writer, and is one of a string of other Marvel projects for Disney+. We’ve already had ‘WandaVision’ and ‘The Falcon and Winter Soldier‘, with ‘Loki’ now premiering Wednesday on the streaming service. That will be followed by the alt-universe animated series ‘What If…?’ in Summer 2021, and the live-action shows ‘Ms. Marvel’ and ‘Hawkeye’ in late 2021. ‘She-Hulk’ is set to land in 2022, followed (in no particular order) by ‘Secret Invasion’, ‘Ironheart’, ‘Armor Wars’, and a currently untitled series set in Wakanda.

She-Hulk‘ is set to premiere in 2022 on Disney+ worldwide.
