‘Solar Opposites’ Renewed For Season 4 On Hulu & STAR On Disney+

Hilarious animated series Solar Opposites, from the creators of ‘Rick and Morty’, has been renewed for a 4th Season, before the 3rd Season has even aired, it has been announced.

‘Solar Opposites’ centres around a team of four aliens who escape their exploding homeworld only to crash land into a move-in-ready home in suburban America. They are evenly split on whether Earth is awful or awesome. Korvo (Justin Roiland) and Yumyulack (Sean Giambrone) only see the pollution, crass consumerism, and human frailty while Terry (Thomas Middleditch) and Jesse (Mary Mack) love humans and all their TV, junk food, and fun stuff. Their mission: protect the Pupa, a living supercomputer that will one day evolve into its true form, consume them and terraform the Earth.

The series debuted in 2020 and became Hulu’s most-watched Original comedy premiere of the year and was Certified Fresh by Rotten Tomatoes. If you’ve listened to the Geektown Radio podcast, you’ll know what huge fans we are of the series, particularly the “Wall” episodes, which are something of a show within a show… “The Wall” is a terrarium in Yumyulack’s room in which he places people who he have annoyed him by shrinking them down with his shrink ray. The series then dedicates portions of episodes, or sometimes entire episodes, to life in the shrunken world of “The Wall”, with its totalitarian society, revolutions, heroes and villains. It’s a wonderful addition to an already hilarious series.

Justin Roiland and Mike McMahan (‘Rick and Morty’) are co-creators and executive producers alongside Josh Bycel. The series is co-showrun by McMahan and Bycel. Justin Roiland, Thomas Middleditch, Sean Giambrone and Mary Mack will reprise their roles.

Solar Opposites‘ Seasons 1 & 2 can be found on Disney+/STAR in the UK, and on Hulu in the USA. Season 3 is slated to premiere in 2022.
