‘SEE’: Momoa & Bautista Battle In Season 2 Trailer, Premiering August On Apple TV+

by Dave Elliott

Apple TV+ has released the full trailer for Season 2 of sci-fi drama SEE, from ‘Peaky Blinders’ creator Steven Knight. Jason Momoa returns in the lead role, and is joined by the MCU’s Dave Bautista, who plays his (not so friendly…) brother in the drama.

Set in the far future, a virus has decimated humankind. Those who survived emerged blind. Jason Momoa stars as Baba Voss, the father of twins born centuries later with the mythic ability to see – who must protect his tribe against a powerful yet desperate queen who believes it’s witchcraft and wants them destroyed.

Just to remind you where we left things at the end of season one, the twins, Kofun (Archie Madekwe) and Haniwa (Nesta Cooper), had headed off to try and track down their birth father, Jerlamarel (Joshua Henry), who also had sight. They made it to Jerlamarel’s “House of Enlightenment”, which turned out to be a former prison converted into a settlement, featuring all mod-cons such as electricity, hot water and an extensive library. However, Kofun overhears Jerlamarel talking with a Colonel from the Trivantian tribe, acting on behalf of a mysterious General seeking the children of Baba Voss, and saying that he will hand over the twins. Kofun attacks Jerlamarel and manages to escape outside where Baba and Paris (Alfre Woodard) are waiting in the woods. Baba defeats and blinds Jerlamarel, but not before discovering Jerlamarel has handed Haniwa over to the mysterious General, who turns out to be Edo Voss… Baba’s brother.

As we head in to season 2, Baba Voss struggles to reunite his family. His estranged brother Edo (Dave Bautista) has captured Baba’s daughter Haniwa, vowing to exact his revenge against his brother. Meanwhile, the threat of war looms between the Kingdom of Paya and the Trivantian Republic, drawing Baba and his family directly into the centre of the conflict.

The show is created by Steven Knight, the man behind ‘Peaky Blinders’ and ‘Taboo’, with Francis Lawrence (‘The Hunger Games’ films, ‘I Am Legend’, ‘Red Sparrow’) directing. The series comes from Chernin Entertainment and Endeavor Content for Apple. Knight and Lawrence exec produce along with Peter Chernin, Jenno Topping and Kristen Campo for Chernin Ent.

SEE‘ Season 2 premieres Friday, 27th August 2021 on Apple TV+ worldwide.
