‘Late Night Mash’: UKTV’s Dave Sets September Premiere For The Return(ish) Of ‘The Mash Report’

UKTV’s Dave has set a September premiere date for Late Night Mash, which is essentially BBC Two’s ‘The Mash Report’ under a new name on a new channel.

Nish Kumar returns as host, and is joined by Rachel Parris and Ellie Taylor as they deliver topical insights and fake news reports from the dystopian parallel universe we affectionately call “modern Britain”. The series will tap into the latest that the zeitgeist has to offer, with up-to-the-minute stories films the day before broadcast. The comedy will comprise eight brand new episodes and a ninth episode compiling the best moments from the series.

‘Late Night Mash’ is a continuation of the successful show ‘The Mash Report’, which aired on BBC Two for four series, and will feature Kumar and a team of comics, including the returning Rachel Parris, Ellie Taylor, Geoff Norcott and Steve N. Allen. The series is produced by Zeppotron and made with The Daily Mash website.

“Mash is rising from the dead,” commented Nish. “I’m not saying I’m Jesus, I just look more like him than most images would have you believe.”

‘Late Night Mash’ is commissioned for UKTV by Mark Iddon, commissioning editor, and Iain Coyle, head of comedy entertainment, and ordered by Cherie Cunningham, Dave channel director. Richard Watsham is director of commissioning for UKTV and Steve North is genre general manager, comedy and entertainment. Executive producers for Zeppotron are Chris Stott, the creator and show-runner of ‘Late Night Mash’ and ‘The Mash Report’, Ruth Phillips and Peter Holmes.

Late Night Mash’ Season 1 premieres Thursday 2nd September 2021 at 10pm on Dave.
