‘Star Wars: Visions’: Disney+ Releases Trailer, Voice Cast & Sept Premiere For Anime Series

Disney+ has released the official trailer for Star Wars: Visions, along with announcing the Japanese and English dub voice casts and a September premiere date for this unique anime take of the Star Wars universe.

The upcoming anthology series from Lucasfilm which tells new Star Wars stories through the singular style and tradition of Japanese anime. The new trailer provides a glimpse of the captivating tone and stunning visuals from each of the animated shorts, which can all be viewed both with the original Japanese voice cast or the English dub.

The studios creating the nine shorts include Kamikaze Douga – “The Duel”; Geno Studio (Twin Engine) – “Lop and Och?”; Studio Colorido (Twin Engine) – “Tatooine Rhapsody”; TRIGGER – “The Twins” and “The Elder”; Kinema Citrus – “The Village Bride”; Science Saru – “Akakiri” and “T0-B1”; and Production I.G. – “The Ninth Jedi.”

The English voice cast for the nine shorts includes Brian Tee (Ronin), Lucy Liu (Bandit Leader), and Jaden Waldman (Village Chief) in the episode ‘The Duel’; Joseph Gordon-Levitt (Jay), Bobby Moynihan (Geezer), Temuera Morrison (BobaFett), Shelby Young (K-344), and Marc Thompson (Lan) for ‘Tatooine Rhapsody’; Neil Patrick Harris (Karre), Alison Brie (Am), and Jonathan Lipow (B-20N) for ‘The Twins’; Karen Fukuhara (F), Nichole Sakura (Haru), Christopher Sean (Asu), Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa (Valco), Andrew Kishino (Izuma),  and Stephanie Sheh (Saku) for ‘The Village Bride’; Kimiko Glenn (Kara), Andrew Kishino (Juro), Simu Liu (Zhima), Masi Oka (Ethan), Greg Chun (Roden), Neil Kaplan (Narrator), and Michael Sinterniklaas (Hen Jin) for ‘The Ninth Jedi’; Jaden Waldman (T0-B1) and Kyle Chandler (Mitaka) for ‘T0-B1’; David Harbour (Tajin), Jordan Fisher (Dan), James Hong (The Elder) for ‘The Elder’; Anna Cathcart (Lop), Hiromi Dames (Ocho), Paul Nakauchi (Yasaburo), and Kyle McCarley (Imperial Officer) for ‘Lop & Ocho’; And Henry Golding (Tsubaki), Jamie Chung (Misa), George Takei (Senshuu), Keone Young (Kamahachi), and Lorraine Toussaint (Masago) in ‘Akakiri’.

The Japanese cast, which includes a multitude of veteran voice actors. They are Masaki Terasoma (Ronin), Akeno Watanabe (Bandit Leader), and Y?ko Sanpei (VillageChief) in the episode ‘The Duel’; Hiroyuki Yoshino (Jay), K?usuke Got? (Geezer), Akio Kaneda (Boba Fett), MasayoFujita (K-344), and Anri Katsu (Lan) for ‘Tatooine Rhapsody’; Junya Enoki (Karre), Ryoko Shiraishi (Am), and Tokuyoshi Kawashima (B-20N) for ‘The Twins’; Asami Seto (F), Megumi Han (Haru), Y?ma Uchida (Asu), Takaya Kamikawa(Vaan), Yoshimitsu Shimoyama (Izuma), and Mariya Ise (Saku) for ‘The Village Bride’; Chinatsu Akasaki(Kara), Tetsuo Kanao (Juro), Shin-ichiro Miki (Zhima), Hiromu Mineta (Ethan), Kazuya Nakai (Roden), Akio ?tsuka, (Narrator), and Daisuke Hirakawa (Hen Jin) for ‘The Ninth Jedi’; Masako Nozawa (T0-B1) and Tsutomu Isobe (Mitaka) for ‘T0-B1’; Takaya Hashi (Tajin), Kenichi Ogata (The Elder), and Yuichi Nakamura (Dan) for ‘The Elder’; Seiran Kobayashi (Lop), Risa Shimizu (Ocho), Tadahisa Fujimura (Yasaburo), and Taisuke Nakano (Imperial Officer) for ‘Lop & Ocho’; And Y? Star Wars: Visions‘ Season 1 premieres Wednesday, 22nd September 2021 on Disney+ in the UK and worldwide.
