AMC’s ‘Interview With The Vampire’ Series Casts GoT’s Jacob Anderson As Louis

Jacob Anderson is about to jump into another big literary adaptation as AMC announce the ‘Game Of Thrones’ star will join their adaptation of Anne Rice’s Interview With The Vampire as Louis.

For those of you unfamiliar with the novel series, The Vampire Chronicles consists of 11 books and begins with Louis (Anderson), an 18th-century French colonial aristocrat, who is turned into the world’s whiniest vampire by the extremely charismatic Lestat (Sam Reid – Lambs of God’, ‘The Hunting’). As the book series continues, it focuses more on Lestat, as he continues his exploits across the ages.

Anderson is a British actor who is probably best known for his role as Grey Worm in ‘Game Of Thrones’. He also has appeared in the hilarious ‘Episodes’, the critically acclaimed ‘Broadchurch’, and Channel 4 series ‘The Mimic’. He is next due to appear in ‘Doctor Who’ as a new character called “Vinder”.

AMC acquired the rights to Rice’s iconic works in a major acquisition last year, encompassing 18 titles including the Vampire Chronicles and Mayfair Witches series. ‘Interview With The Vampire’ is the first title in the collection to be developed and greenlit for an eight-episode series. Rolin Jones (‘Perry Mason’, ‘Boardwalk Empire’, ‘Friday Night Lights’) is the creator, writer and showrunner of the drama. Jones also exec produces alongside Mark Johnson (‘Breaking Bad’, ‘Better Call Saul’, ‘Halt and Catch Fire’, ‘Rectify’), who is overseeing the development of the full Anne Rice collection purchased by AMC into an on-screen universe, with Anne and Christopher Rice.

Interview With The Vampire‘ is set to premiere on AMC in the USA in 2022. Although we have an AMC in the UK, it does not always follow that their own shows air on their own channel (they presumably make more selling them to other broadcasters abroad). If you want to keep track of this show you can add it via our Never Miss system, and you’ll be notified when it gets a UK premiere date.
