‘The Problem With Jon Stewart’: Apple TV+ Sets September Premiere For Stewart’s Return To TV

by Dave Elliott

For those of you missing him from ‘The Daily Show’, Jon Stewart is back with a new weekly satirical take on current affairs in The Problem With Jon Stewart on Apple TV+ this September.

It’s easy to feel overwhelmed by the world’s problems. It’s harder to pinpoint the systems responsible for creating them. In this series, Jon Stewart brings together people impacted by different parts of a problem to discuss one big question: How do we come up with change?

Each episode will take a deep dive on single issues covering the most important topics that are currently part of the national conversation. Stewart chats with the people who are affected by the issue under discussion, as well as those who have a hand in creating the impact. Together, they will discuss tangible steps that can lead to a potential solution.

In addition to the tv series, the show will have a companion series podcast, extending the conversation from each episode, featuring staff members from across the show who will moderate interviews with activists in the space, the facts on the issue, and yes, lots of jokes. As Jon jokes in the trailer above, podcasts are possibly a better fit for his current look…

The series is hosted by and exec produced by Stewart through his Busboy Productions and has a multi-season order. Chelsea Devantez (‘The Opposition with Jordan Klepper’) serves as head writer with former ‘CBS Evening News’ producer Brinda Adhikari as showrunner and exec producer.

The Problem With Jon Stewart‘ Season 1 premieres Thursday, 30th September 2021 on Apple TV+ globally.
