Sabrina Joins ‘Riverdale’ Season 6 For Crossover Event

For those of you missing those “chilling adventures”, we have some good news. Kiernan Shipka is set to make a guest appearance in Riverdale Season 6 as Sabrina Spellman when the teen drama returns this November.

“We’ve been talking about having Sabrina visit Riverdale since season 1, so it’s thrilling that this is finally happening, as part of our Rivervale special event,” commented showrunner Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa. “It’s also perfect that she shows up to help Cheryl Blossom during her hour of greatest need. Everyone on set lost their minds — I think fans will, too. It’s really fun and special.”

Now, I have to admit, I haven’t been watching ‘Riverdale’ for a while, but it appears to have gotten increasingly bonkers as the seasons have progressed from the story of a murdered kid in a high school in season one. The latest season not only including a possible alien abduction, but also ended with Cheryl invoking a curse originally spoken by her ancestor Abigail (who was being burned alive as a witch at the time…) The target of that curse? The ancestors of Archie, Betty and Jughead… This brings us to the five-episode “Rivervale” event in Season 6.

Sabrina is set to appear in episode four of the drama’s new season titled “The Witching Hour(s),” where she will be assisting Cheryl to performs a dangerous spell that may mean the difference between life and death for a beloved member of the Blossom family…

‘Chilling Adventures of Sabrina’ ran from 2018 to 2020 on Netflix, but was originally conceived as a companion to ‘Riverdale’ for The CW. However, Netflix offered the better deal at the time and picked up the drama, so that rather squished any possibility of crossovers, until now.

Riverdale‘ Season 6 is set to premiere Tuesday, November 16th, 2021, at 9/8c on The CW in the USA. The teen drama usually returns the day after that (Wednesday, 17th November 20201) on Netflix UK, but that hasn’t been confirmed yet.
