‘Space Force’: Season 2 Of Steve Carell Comedy Gets February Premiere On Netflix

Steve Carell & Greg Daniels’ very silly comedy Space Force is set to return to Netflix for Season 2 this February the streaming service has announced.

‘Space Force’ follows Carell as four-star general Mark R. Naird,  a decorated pilot with dreams of running the Air Force, who was thrown for a loop when he finds himself tapped to lead the newly formed sixth branch of the US Armed Forces: Space Force. Sceptical but dedicated, Mark uprooted his family and moved to a remote base in Colorado where he and a colourful team of scientists and “Spacemen” were tasked by the White House with getting American boots on the moon (again) in a hurry and achieving total space dominance.

Season 2 sees a number of changes, and picks up with General Naird and his underdog team having to prove their worth to a new administration while dealing with interpersonal challenges. Will the group come together or fall apart under the pressure…? Space Force is only human after all.

Alongside Carell, the series regular cast includes John Malkovich, Ben Schwartz, Tawny Newsome, Diana Silvers, Jimmy O. Yang and Don Lake.

Behind the scenes on the show, the second season also made a few changes, described as a “creative revamp”. Norm Hiscock (‘Parks and Recreation’, ‘Brooklyn Nine-Nine’) joined the series as exec producer and co-showrunner alongside Greg Daniels, and it was announced that co-star Jimmy O. Yang joined the writing team of the comedy. In addition, the production moved from Los Angeles to Vancouver in order to help do Netflix’s favourite thing when it comes to second seasons… save money on production.

Space Force‘ Season 2 will be 7 episodes, and premieres Friday, 18th February 2022 on Netflix UK and worldwide.
