The new animated spin-off ‘The Boys: Diabolical‘ gets a tiny (but somewhat bloody!) “first look” clip along with a March premiere date on Amazon Prime Video the streaming service has announced.
The eight-episode animated anthology reveals unseen stories within The Boys universe, brought to life by some of the most creative minds in entertainment today, including Awkwafina, Garth Ennis, Eliot Glazer and Ilana Glazer, Evan Goldberg and Seth Rogen, Simon Racioppa, Justin Roiland and Ben Bayouth, Andy Samberg, and Aisha Tyler.
“Ever since we saw the animated film The Animatrix, a series of short animated films set in the universe of The Matrix, we’ve wanted to rip it off,” joked executive producers and writers Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg when the series was announced in December. “Today that dream has come true.”
Season three of ‘The Boys’ won’t land until Summer 2022, so this hopefully will help fill the void until then. Interestingly, the animated style of the clip seems more in line with a traditional cartoon than adult animated shows… Minus the exploding heads… obviously…
‘The Boys: Diabolical’ is executive produced by Simon Racioppa, Eric Kripke, Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg, James Weaver, Neal H. Moritz, Pavun Shetty, Ori Marmur, Ken F. Levin, Jason Netter, Garth Ennis, Darick Robertson, Michaela Starr, Loreli Alanís, Chris Prynoski, Shannon Prynoski, and Ben Kalina. The series is produced by Amazon Studios and Sony Pictures Television Studios, with Titmouse, Kripke Enterprises, Original Film, and Point Grey Pictures.
‘The Boys: Diabolical‘ premieres Friday, 4th March 2022 on Amazon Prime Video in the UK and around the world.
