‘9-1-1’: Season 5 Lands February UK Premiere On Sky Witness & NOW
Hit emergency services drama ‘9-1-1‘ is set to return to the UK this February for Season 5 on Sky Witness and streaming service NOW.
‘9-1-1’ explores the high-pressure experiences of first responders, including police officers, firefighters and dispatchers, who are thrust into the most frightening, shocking and heart-stopping situations in LA. These emergency responders must try to balance saving those who are at their most vulnerable with solving the problems in their own lives. The show draws from real-life, high-pressure experiences of first responders who regularly face heart-stopping situations that are often unpredictable, intense and uplifting at the same time.
As we head into season five, a series of ransomware threats leads to an overabundance of emergencies for the 118, including a medevac helicopter crash at a hospital and an air- traffic control tower system failure. Meanwhile, Athena must revisit her traumatic attack when the case of the realtor serial rapist goes to trial, Eddie suffers a health scare and Maddie’s postpartum depression worsens.
The series stars Academy and Emmy Award nominee Angela Bassett, Emmy Award and Golden Globe nominee Peter Krause and Golden Globe nominee Jennifer Love Hewitt. Additionally, Oliver Stark, Aisha Hinds, Kenneth Choi, Ryan Guzman, Rockmond Dunbar, Corinne Massiah, Marcanthonee Jon Reis and Gavin McHugh are featured in series regular roles.
‘9-1-1’ is produced by 20th Television in association with Ryan Murphy Television and Brad Falchuk Teley-Vision. Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk and Tim Minear are creators, executive producers and writers on the series. Bradley Buecker is an executive producer and director. Alexis Martin Woodall, Angela Bassett, Peter Krause, John J. Gray, Kristen Reidel and Juan Carlos Coto also serve as executive producers.
For those of you wondering about ‘9-1-1: Lone Star’, this season FOX US opted not to run the shows together, so it’s likely Sky will do the same in the UK, with the spin-off drama following after the original ends. There is unlikely to be any major crossover this year, due to timing and covid protocols on-set, so there is no need to run them together.
