‘Cat Burglar’: Netflix Announces February Premiere For Tex Avery-Inspired Interactive Animation… From Charlie Brooker…

Netflix has announced an interesting new project coming this February – a Tex Avery-inspired interactive cartoon. Whilst you might think “aww… fun for all the family”, it is from the warped and twisted mind of Charlie Brooker, so be warned…

This edgy, over-the-top, interactive, Tex Avery-inspired cartoon is from the creators of ‘Black Mirror’. By answering witty trivia questions, viewers must help Rowdy Cat get one over on Peanut the Security Pup and break into a museum to steal some prized paintings.

With an average runtime of fifteen minutes, and over an hour and a half of animation to explore, viewers can play ‘Cat Burglar’ multiple times and unlock previously unseen sequences of Rowdy trying to outsmart Peanut.

James Adomian (‘Comedy Bang! Bang!’, ‘Our Cartoon President’) provides the voice of Rowdy Cat, with Alan Lee (‘Yashahime: Princess Half-Demon’, ‘One Punch Man: Wanpanman’) as Peanut, and Trevor Devall (‘F Is for Family’, ‘Tom and Jerry’, ‘He-Man’) as the Museum Director.

The project is created by Charlie Brooker and written by Mike Hollingsworth and James Bowman (‘BoJack Horseman’, ‘Tuca & Bertie’). Charlie Brooke and Annabel Jones (Broke and Bones) and Mike Hollingsworth exec produce. Interactive Production comes from Russell McLean, who did Brooker’s other interactive project, ‘Bandersnatch’, with animation from Boulder Media.

‘Cat Burglar’ premieres Tuesday, 22nd February 2022 on Netflix UK and worldwide.
