by Dave Elliott

A trailer has arrived for Season 2 of medical comedy Bloods, which moves to Sky Comedy & NOW for its new outing in March.

BAFTA-nominated Samson Kayo (Famalam, Timewasters) and Golden Globe-nominated Jane Horrocks (Absolutely Fabulous, Little Voice) return as South London’s finest oddbal paramedic partners in the ambulance service. Series two welcomes a new source of conflict for Wendy and Maleek in the form of Wendy’s deeply irritating son, Spencer (Nathan Foad). Also joining the cast is Katherine Kelly (Innocent, Liar) as the ambulance station’s acting counsellor and listening ear. This series sees Jo’s crush on Lawrence revealed, Darrel and Darryl facing separation and Gary and Kareshma becoming emotionally involved with a patient., so a counsellor may be just what the team need!

The show’s returning cast includes Lucy Punch (Motherland) as boisterous station boss Jo, and Julian Barratt (Mighty Boosh) as grieving widower Lawrence. Adrian Scarborough (Gavin and Stacey) and Aasiya Shah (Raised By Wolves) reprise their roles as Gary and Kareshma, paramedics with diametrically opposing career outlooks, and Kevin Garry (Ted Lasso) and Sam Campbell as the glued-to-the-hip duo of paramedics Darrell and Darryl.

The ten-episode series will air in two five-part drops and has been created for Sky by BAFTA award-winning Roughcut TV (Stath Lets Flats, People Just Do Nothing, Cuckoo) in association with Sky Studios. The comedy was commissioned by Jon Mountague, Director of Comedy, Sky Studios and Tilusha Ghelani, Commissioning Editor, Sky Studios, for Zai Bennett, Managing Director of Content, Sky UK.
