‘BattleBots’ Finds New UK Home On ITV4 With New Season Landing In April 2022

Good news for those of you missing regular robot carnage, as ITV4 has picked up Season 3 of the rebooted series ‘BattleBots‘ (or Season 11 depending on how you’re counting!) to begin airing this April.

For those of you who haven’t caught ‘BattleBots’, the series is similar to ‘Robot Wars’, but turned up to eleven. Next-generation robots from all over the globe trade blows to reign supreme. The series highlights the design and build of each robot, bot-builder backstories and the pursuit of the BattleBots championship.

‘BattleBots’ has been airing in the USA for 22 years, and over that time has jumped from Comedy Central, to ABC, to its current home on Discovery. This is the third season from the Discovery run, and the eleventh season overall, which aired in the USA in January 2022. Sportscaster Chris Rose and UFC fighter Kenny Florian will return once again to provide play-by-play commentary, along with expert contributions from Pete Abrahamson, a.k.a. The Bot Whisperer. Meanwhile, Faruq Tauheed returns to the BattleBox as Ring Announcer.

The new season moves the robot action from its previous home in LA to Las Vegas! The iconic BattleBox fight arena has been completely reimagined for the new seasons with extra hazards for the robots – generating even more tension and excitement for viewers. One of these new features is the inclusion of an “upper deck”, complete with its own set of spinning saw blades, which adds new geometry angles to the playing surface.

BattleBots remains the most popular robotic combat sport in the world, created by Ed Roski and Greg Munson and now seen in over 150 countries. It is produced by BattleBots, Inc. and Whalerock Industries. Executive producers are Chris Cowan, Edward (Trey) Roski, Greg Munson, Tom Gutteridge, Aaron Catling and Evan Gatica. For Discovery Channel, Scott Lewers, Joseph Boyle and Wyatt Channell are executive producers, and Paola Espinosa is associate producer.

‘BattleBots‘ Season 3 (or 11) premieres Monday, 4th April 2022 on ITV4 at 7pm, and continues every weeknight.
