‘The Equalizer’: Season 2 Gets February UK Premiere Date On Sky Witness

The Equalizer will be back for a LOT more… equalizing?… as CBS announces the drama has been picked up for Season 3 AND Season 4!

Queen Latifah stars as Robyn McCall, an enigmatic former CIA operative who uses her extensive skills to help those with nowhere else to turn. McCall comes across to most as an average single mom who is quietly raising her teenage daughter. But to a trusted few, she is “The Equalizer” – an anonymous guardian angel and defender of the downtrodden, who’s also dogged in her pursuit of personal redemption.

The renewal isn’t too much of a shock given the drama is the number one scripted series in the USA on Sunday nights. It also trends extremely well online for the network, with over 1.2 billion potential social media impressions for this season according to CBS.

“The Equalizer continues to pack a powerful punch on Sunday nights, and we’re thrilled to have it back for two more seasons,” commented Thom Sherman, senior executive vice president of programming at CBS Entertainment. “The success of The Equalizer is due to the sum of its parts – an outstanding cast led by the superb Queen Latifah, plus the exceptional creative team that has continued to evolve their storytelling with a compelling mix of everyday justice, family dynamics and real-world issues that connect and resonate with audiences.”

Alongside Latifah, the series star Tory Kittles as Marcus Dante, an intelligent and shrewd NYPD detective on Robyn’s trail, but she helps him but finds common ground in getting justice; Liza Lapira as Melody “Mel” Bayani, a former Air Force sniper turned owner of a bar which acts as a secret base of operations for Robyn; Adam Goldberg as Harry Keshegian, Melody’s husband and a master hacker; Lorraine Toussaint as Viola “Aunt Vi” Marsette, Robyn’s very wise paternal aunt; And Laya DeLeon Hayes as Delilah, Robyn’s 15-year-old daughter.

Andrew Marlowe, Terri Miller, Dana Owens (Queen Latifah), John Davis, John Fox, Debra Martin Chase, Richard Lindheim (co-creator of the original ‘Equalizer’ TV series that ran on CBS for four seasons), Shakim Compere and Liz Friedlander (pilot director) are executive producers for Universal Television, a division of NBCUniversal Content Studios, i/a/w CBS Television Studios.

The Equalizer‘ airs on Sky Witness in the UK.
