‘Star Wars: Skeleton Crew’, Disney+ Announces New Live-Action Series Starring Jude Law

In another announcement from Star Wars Celebration in Anaheim, Disney+ has revealed Star Wars: Skeleton Crew, a new live-action tv series set in the Star Wars universe with Jude Law in the lead, from ‘Spider-Man’ director Jon Watts.

The announcement didn’t come with a huge amount of additional information about the show, however, Watts confirmed it will be set within the same timeline as ‘The Mandalorian’ (so, between ‘Return of the Jedi’ and ‘The Force Awakens’), and will follow “a group of kids who are about ten years old who gets lost in the Star Wars universe.” He did also say, it is a show with four kids as the leads, but not a “kids show”, which sounds somewhat in the territory of ‘Stranger Things’ although not as dark. Tonally, it’s said to sit more in the space of those 80s Amblin coming-of-age adventure films, and will be appropriate for the same audience as the ‘Clone Wars’ animated series.

In addition to the four yet-to-be-cast kids, the series will star Jude Law, presumably as the responsible adult (or possibly irresponsible adult) in the drama. Most recently, Law starred in the TV drama ‘The Third Day’, and can be seen in ‘Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore’.

‘Star Wars: Skeleton Crew’ comes from ‘Spider-Man: Homecoming’ director Jon Watts and writer Christopher Ford, and will be exec produced by Watts, Ford, Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni.

Star Wars: Skeleton Crew‘ will premiere in 2023 on Disney+ worldwide. If you want to keep track of this or any other show, you can add them via our Never Miss system, and you’ll be notified when it gets a UK premiere date.
