‘The Good Fight’: More4 Sets October UK Premiere Date For Season 5

The Good Fight is over, as Paramount+ announce the upcoming 6th Season will be the last.

“We’ve LOVED fighting ‘The Good Fight’ these last six seasons,” said Robert and Michelle King, series co-creators, showrunners and executive producers. “To be able to tell stories about an upside-down world in real-time has been a gift. And to have worked with these talented, brilliant, generous actors, writers and crew has been a blessing. Our hope-slash-scheme is to find ways to work with all of them again in the future.”

In the most recent fifth season, Diane (Christine Baranski) was forced to question whether it’s appropriate for her to help run an African American law firm with Liz (Audra McDonald) when the firm loses two top lawyers. Meanwhile, Marissa (Sarah Steele) and the firm became entangled with Hal Wackner (Mandy Patinkin), a regular Chicagoan who decided to open his own courtroom in the back of a copy shop.

The upcoming sixth season has Diane feeling like she’s going crazy, struggling with an uneasy sense of déjà vu, with everything from Roe v. Wade, to voting rights, to Cold War aggressions returning. Meanwhile, the lawyers of Reddick & Associates wonder if the violence that they see all around them points to an impending civil war.

“It’s been an extraordinary run we’ve had, from ‘The Good Wife’ to ‘The Good Fight’,” adds Ridley Scott, executive producer. “13 years of the Kings’ brilliant writing, magnificent acting troupes led by Julianna Margulies and Christine Baranski, and massive support and partnership with CBS and Paramount+. In this day and age, where long runs are more the exception than the norm and where discerning audiences have so much choice for quality content, the success and longevity of these series are a testament to how excellent both shows were. David Zucker and I, and the entire team at Scott Free Television, could not be more grateful for this experience.”

“Robert and Michelle’s ‘The Good Fight’, has delivered five incredible seasons of smart, provocative and, above all, immensely entertaining storytelling featuring one of the best casts in the business,” said Nicole Clemens, president of Paramount+ Original Scripted Series. “Not only has this series earned the praise of critics and fans alike, but it helped to launch our service and will always be a part of our DNA. While it’s bittersweet to say goodbye to these incredible characters, we trust our creators to know when their story is complete. We’re excited to share the sixth and final season with the world and know that the Kings will continue to exceed our expectations with groundbreaking storytelling.”

The cast of ‘The Good Fight’ includes Christine Baranski, John Slattery, Sarah Steele, Michael Boatman, Nyambi Nyambi, Charmaine Bingwa, with Audra McDonald and Andre Braugher. Alan Cumming and Carrie Preston guest star.

Robert and Michelle King serve as showrunners and executive producers of the series, which they co-created with Phil Alden Robinson. Ridley Scott, David W. Zucker, Liz Glotzer, William Finkelstein, Jonathan Tolins, Jacquelyn Reingold and Christine Baranski also serve as executive producers. The series is produced by CBS Studios in association with Scott Free Productions and King Size Productions. The series is distributed worldwide by Paramount Global Content Distribution.

The Good Fight Season 6 is set to premiere in the USA on Paramount+ from September 8, 2022. The series has been premiering on More4 in the UK, however, with the launch of Paramount+ over here later this month, it’s unclear if More4 will retain the premiere or if it’ll revert back to Paramount+ UK. We’ll let you know when we get a confirmation either way. If you want to keep track of this or any other show, you can add them via our Never Miss system, and you’ll be notified when it gets a UK premiere date.
