‘Only Murders in the Building’ Renewed For Season 3
Wonderfully fun murder/mystery comedy ‘Only Murders In The Building‘ will return for a 3rd Season, as Hulu announces the series has been renewed.
From the minds of Steve Martin, Dan Fogelman (‘This Is Us’) and John Hoffman (‘Grace and Frankie’) the series follows three strangers (Steve Martin, Martin Short and Selena Gomez) who share an obsession with true crime and suddenly find themselves wrapped up in one. When a grisly death occurs inside their exclusive Upper West Side apartment building, the trio suspects murder and employs their precise knowledge of true crime to investigate the truth.
As they record a podcast of their own to document the case, the three unravel the complex secrets of the building which stretch back years. Perhaps even more explosive are the lies they tell one another. Soon, the endangered trio comes to realize a killer might be living amongst them as they race to decipher the mounting clues before it’s too late.

The first season debuted as the most-watched comedy series in Hulu Originals’ history, and Both seasons are 100% Certified Fresh on Rotten Tomatoes. The first season was also the #1 best-reviewed television series of 2021.
The second season, which is currently running on Disney+ in the UK and Hulu in the USA, picks up right after the shocking finale of season one. The murder of Tim Kono had been solved, but we ended on a cliffhanger that saw Charles and Oliver find Mabel covered in the blood of Arconia board president Bunny Fogler, who had been fatally stabbed Mabel’s knitting needle!
Now Charles, Oliver and Mabel find themselves in a race to unmask Bunny’s killer. However, three (unfortunate) complications ensue: the trio is publicly implicated in Bunny’s homicide, they are now the subjects of a competing podcast, and they have to deal with a bunch of New York neighbours who all think they committed murder!
Alongside Martin, Short and Gomez the series features Nathan Lane, Jackie Hoffman, Jayne Houdyshell, Vanessa Aspillaga, and Julian Cihi in recurring roles. There are also a number of guest roles in season two, with Oscar-winner Shirley MacLaine, Zoe Colletti (Fear the Walking Dead), Cara Delevingne (Carnival Row), Andrea Martin (Evil), Michael Rapaport (Atypical) and Amy Schumer (Life & Beth) all confirmed.
Co-created and written by Martin and John Hoffman based on an idea by Martin, the series is produced by 20th Television. Martin and John Hoffman exec produce along with Short, Gomez, Jamie Babbitt, Dan Fogelman and Jess Rosenthal.
