‘Superman & Lois’ Jonathan Kent Role Recast As Jordan Elsass Exits Series

Superman & Lois will be back for Season 3, but one of its stars will not, as WBTV reveals that Jordan Elsass, who plays Jonathan Kent in the drama, will not be returning.

In a statement, Warner Bros TV said “Jordan Elsass has notified the studio that he will not be returning to Superman & Lois for season three due to personal reasons. The role of Jonathan Kent will be recast.”

There has been no comment directly from Elsass or his people, but various sources have said his departure is due to a private matter and not a workplace-related issue. Production is due to begin imminently on the third season, so Berlanti Productions and WBTV are now on a fast hunt for a new young actor to take up the role.

The series follows The Man of Steel aka Clark Kent (Tyler Hoechlin, “Teen Wolf”) and comic books’ most famous journalist, Lois Lane (Elizabeth Tulloch, “Grimm”), as they come face to face with one of their greatest challenges ever – dealing with all the stress, pressures and complexities that come with being working parents in today’s society. Complicating the already daunting job of raising two boys, Clark and Lois must also concern themselves with whether or not their sons Jonathan (TBD…) and Jordan (Alexander Garfin, “The Peanuts Movie”) have inherited their father’s Kryptonian superpowers as they grow older.

The series is developed by Greg Berlanti & Todd Helbing, who serve as executive producers of the series with Sarah Schechter, Geoff Johns and David Madden. ‘Superman & Lois’ is from Berlanti Productions in association with Warner Bros. Television.

Superman & Lois‘ Season 2 is currently airing on BBC One with all episodes on iPlayer in the UK. The drama is due to return for Season 3 on The CW in the USA in 2023.
