If you have a household with teenage K-Pop fans, get ready to hear happy screams this morning, as Disney+ has dropped a surprise release of the concert film ‘BTS: Permission To Dance On Stage – LA’ this morning as part of the Disney+ Day celebrations.

‘BTS: Permission To Dance On Stage – LA’ showcases the live performance of the BTS concert held at the Los Angeles SoFi Stadium in late 2021 (Nov 27-28 & December 1-2). The concert film is stage-focused and includes performances of the GRAMMY-nominated, music group’s hit songs “Dynamite”, “Butter” and “Permission to Dance.” For the older people amongst you, BTS, an acronym of Bangtan Sonyeondan or “Beyond the Scene,” are a South Korean boy band that have been capturing the hearts of millions of fans globally since their debut in June 2013.

BTS features RM, Jin, SUGA, j-hope, Jimin, V, and Jung Kook. The film is produced by HYBE, a Den of Thieves production, in association with Borderless Films.

In addition to the BTS concert, the streaming service also surprise-dropped a 10-min “sneak peek” at the upcoming Star Wars series Andor.

Launching 21st September 2022 with a three-episode premiere, ‘Andor’ explores a new perspective from the?Star Wars?galaxy, focusing on Cassian Andor’s journey to discover the difference he can make. The series brings forward the tale of the burgeoning rebellion against the Empire and how people and planets became involved. It’s an era filled with danger, deception and intrigue where Cassian will embark on the path that is destined to turn him into a rebel hero.

Diego Luna returns as Cassian Andor and is joined by cast members Genevieve O’Reilly, Stellan Skarsgård, Adria Arjona, Denise Gough, Kyle Soller and Fiona Shaw. The executive producers are Kathleen Kennedy, Tony Gilroy, Sanne Wohlenberg, Diego Luna and Michelle Rejwan. Tony Gilroy is also the creator and showrunner.

These two surprise releases join the previously announced Disney+ Day content which includes Marvel Studios’ ‘Thor: Love and Thunder’, the live-action/cgi ‘Pinocchio’, a new episode of ‘She-Hulk: Attorney at Law’, ‘Cars on the Road’, ‘Obi-Wan Kenobi: A Jedi’s Return’, ‘Growing Up’, ‘Epic Adventures with Bertie Gregory’, ‘Tierra Incógnita’, ‘Marvel Studios Assembled: The Making of Thor: Love and Thunder’, ‘Wedding Season’, ‘Mike’, the ‘Frozen’ and ‘Frozen 2’ Sing-Alongs (sorry parents!), and “Welcome to the Club,” a new short from ‘The Simpsons’.
