‘Ahsoka’: Eman Esfandi Cast As Live-Action Ezra Bridger For Star Wars Series

The upcoming Star Wars series Ahsoka has cast Eman Esfandi as the live-action actor for Ezra Bridger it has been revealed.

Set five years after the events of ‘Star Wars: Return of the Jedi’, the series stars Rosario Dawson as Ahsoka Tano, Jedi Knight and former apprentice to Anakin Skywalker. Following her long-awaited, live-action debut in ‘The Mandalorian’, the new limited series will continue Ahsoka Tano’s story.

Whilst we know nothing yet of the exact plot of to series, it does seem the story will pick up where we left things at the end of ‘Star Wars Rebels’. For those of you who don’t remember (*spoilers* for the end of ‘Rebels’ obviously!), when we last saw Ezra, the Rebels were in a confrontation with Admiral Thrawn. Ezra stayed onboard Thrawn’s flagship to make sure he was defeated as it was pulled away into hyperspace to parts unknown by a pod of Purrgils (aka space whales.) Skip forward five years, and Ahsoka teams up with Sabine with a vow to search for the missing Ezra.

Eman Esfandi has appeared in the movie Williams sister’s tennis film, ‘King Richard’, and Robert Rodriguez’s horror movie ‘Red 11’. He joins Dawson who returns as Ahsoka, alongside Liu Bordizzo (‘The Society’) as Sabine Wren, and Ray Stevenson (‘Vikings’, ‘Black Sails’, ‘Thor’) who is playing a “villainous Admiral” (but not Thrawn). Mary Elizabeth Winstead (‘Fargo’) and Ivanna Sakhno (‘High Fidelity’) are also set to star in yet-to-be-disclosed roles. In addition, Hayden Christensen is set to return as Anakin Skywalker, although that would presumably be either in flashback or as a force ghost, given this is all set after the events of ‘Return of the Jedi’.

The new limited series is written by Dave Filoni, with Filoni and Jon Favreau exec producing.

Star Wars: Ahsoka‘ does not yet have a premiere date, but if you want to keep track of this or any other show, you can add it via our Never Miss system, and you’ll be notified when it gets a UK premiere date.
