UKTV’s Dave channel has released a trailer and announced a November premiere for ‘We Are Not Alone‘, a new original comedy special from some of the team behind ‘Ghosts’.
Set six weeks after the Gu’un aliens have invaded and completely conquered Earth, ‘We Are Not Alone’ is a brand new 90-minute scripted comedy that explores the culture clash between humankind and its new extra-terrestrial masters. These new overlords are trying to make sense of a planet so confusing and idiotic that its inhabitants can’t even agree which side of the road to drive on.
Declan Baxter stars as hapless Clitheroe resident Stewart, selected by Gu’uns – Trater (Vicki Pepperdine), Gordan (Mike Wozniak) and Greggs (Joe Thomas) – as their official human liaison. Stewart must help the Gu’uns win favour with humankind, secretly aid Grieves (Amanda Abbington) and the human resistance, and somehow manage his enduring crush on Elodie (Georgia May Foote).
‘We Are Not Alone’ is written by Larry Rickard & Ben Willbond, two of the team behind shows such as ‘Ghosts’, ‘Yonderland’ and ‘Bill’. The special was commissioned for UKTV by Pete Thornton, head of scripted, and ordered by Cherie Cunningham, Dave channel director. Richard Watsham is director of commissioning for UKTV and Steve North is genre general manager, comedy and entertainment. ‘We Are Not Alone’ is directed by Fergal Costello (‘Brain In Gear’) and produced by Philip Leach (‘The Bay’). Executive producers for Big Talk are Kenton Allen, Matthew Justice and Victoria Grew.
‘We Are Not Alone‘ premieres Monday, 28th November 2022 at 9pm on UKTV’s Dave, and UKTV Play.
