‘The Conners’: Sky Comedy Picks Up The ‘Roseanne’ Spin-Off To Air In 2023

Sky Comedy has picked up The Conners, the spin-off from ‘Roseanne’, to air early in 2023 on the UK broadcaster.

After a sudden turn of events, the Conners are forced to face the daily struggles of life in Lanford in a way they never have before. This iconic family – Dan, Jackie, Darlene, Becky and D.J. – grapples with parenthood, dating, an unexpected pregnancy, financial pressures, ageing and in-laws in working-class America. Through it all, the fights, the coupon cutting, the hand-me-downs, the breakdowns – with love, humour and perseverance, the family prevails.

The series stars John Goodman as Dan Conner, Laurie Metcalf as Jackie Harris, Sara Gilbert as Darlene Conner, Lecy Goranson as Becky Conner-Healy and Ames McNamara as Mark Conner-Healy. The show also featured a number of guest stars including Matthew Broderick, Juliette Lewis, Katey Sagal, Mary Steenburgen, Justin Long, Jay R. Ferguson and Sarah Chalke. Additionally, fan favourites from ‘Roseanne’ reprise their roles including Estelle Parsons as Beverly Harris, Natalie West as Crystal Anderson and James Pickens Jr. as Chuck Mitchell.

The comedy, which is currently airing its fifth season in the USA, was created in 2018 following some “problematic” tweets from the original star, Roseanne Barr, that got a revival of the sitcom cancelled at ABC after one season. Barr has no financial or creative involvement in the spin-off series.

‘The Conners’ comes from Werner Entertainment and is executive produced by Tom Werner with Sara Gilbert, Bruce Helford, Dave Caplan, Bruce Rasmussen and Tony Hernandez all serving as executive producers.

The Conners‘ is set to premiere daily from Monday, 2nd January 2023 at 8pm on Sky Comedy from Season 1.
